I can't remember this 90's kids movie!?
The only thing i can recall is a little girl trying to escape from this ugly tall skinny woman with crazy red hair and crooked teeth. Question about morality in society…?
Is there something that makes a human eating a human any less moral than a human eating another animal? When humans eat other humans, this is generally regarded as unacceptable by society, but for some reason the eating of other animals by humans is acceptable. Why is this? Do you think it is because humans are the dominant species? Why is it that eating a nonhuman animal is acceptable, whereas eating another human being is not?

I believe that humans eating animals is for necessity, because we need to eat
and we have grown in society believing that we do not need to kill another human to eat, because we have animals. Besides, when killing a human for eating you can understand him, you know how the person would feel or what if it was your friend, or someone elses friend. What Im trying to say is that you can relate. And I dont believe that humans are animals, animals dont kill just because and humans do.

We are the only creatures capable of complex reasoning and thinking, therefor many social consequences would have to be taken into consideration before consuming one of our own. If a cow or other commonly eaten animal had the ability and intellect to reason with us, most of us would not eat the cow.

In addition there are some very few tribes in other countries that do practice forms of cannibalism and though it is socially acceptable it has proven to be unhealthy, and cause rare hard to cure diseases and some physical brain problems.

In conclusion regardless of my argument, I think if a restaurant served people I might try a bite.

I agree. I do not think people realize what they really do. I ate animals up until the end of 9th grade and then I realized what I was doing. My life has been a lot better since.

Anyway, I use this argument when people make fun of me because I do not eat meat. They just say animals are stupid. (Which they definitely are not.)

The idea that the eating of human flesh is bad, on the other hand, is a more of a social custom. Any illness that the deceased had would be very efficiently passed on to everyone who ate from the body.

See, animals don’t eat thier counterpart generally. But they can do this if, say, lions have more cubs than they can feed. So they do this to escape a problem. But remember, lions eat other animals and dont feel shame about it.
Now humans. As lions we eat other animals and dont feel shame either. Because If you want to be healthy you should eat meat. At least untill 25, when body finishes transformation.
Now eating other humans. Aborigens eat thier enemies because of lack of albumen, they should do this to be alive, healthy and rise up a seed. But of course they eat thier counterparts when there was lack of enemies. So they do it because they dont have other sources of albumen.
There is another side of cannibalism. When maniacs eat thier victims. It is a deviation. Of course humans are very tasty, because it albumens adopts perfectly. So this is shit.
Humans are very weak in mind, so even minimal influence can cause deviation. We see it every day.
And knowing this one is bad, we transfer same property on aborigens, counting eating each other is bad.

in the donner party expedition they eventually resulted to eating a person who died, since they were starving. In one diary I’ve read one person said they just couldn’t do it. When I think about, I think of ‘lord of the flies’ where the people are still holding on to as much of that ‘civilization’ aspect as they can.
+ there is really no need for humans to eat other humans? I mean unless you are like donner party. There are many other species who I am sure don’t eat there kind no-matter the situation..

Animals don’t usually eat members of their own species. Many animals, however, do prey on animals of other species. Humans are no different. I, personally don’t see a problem with killing/eating animals. Take deer, for example. Where I live, if hunters didn’t keep the population down, there would be even more hit by cars, and more desease and starvation among them. Since their aren’t any animals in the area that prey on deer, it’s up to humans to fill in the void.

Yes, it is wrong. The only third world tribes that do this do it for two reasons. First, it scares other tribes. Secondly, It makes them war crazy and reckless. If we as a society accepted this behaivor long ago we would never have achieved the great complexity we stand with today. Picture us always on the move because some war crazed cannibals would rather raid our homes in the middle of the night than to hunt other animals or farm. We are easier targets anyway.
